The person in this position loads trucks and drives between company facilities. This driver may also provide work leadership to lower-level employees.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Load truck properly, secure freight to prevent movement and assist with unloading.
Transport the product safely.
Assist with gathering, verifying and packing items for shipment according to specifications.
Complete written and computerized documentation.
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 3 years of related experience. Requires CDL license. Requires forklift certification.
Familiar with local transportation routes and state and local driving requirements. Valid driver’s license with good driving record. Able to operate powered equipment such as forklift or hydraulic jack lift. Thorough knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures including handling exceptions. Requires basic reading, writing and numerical ability. Able to use company databases or other IT applications. Effective verbal communication skills. May provide work leadership to lower level employees. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
