Responsible for enterprise-wide evaluation and design of transportation services to maximize delivery efficiency.
Partners with the business units to create overall Carrier Performance Management program.
Develops proactive strategies that anticipate and mitigate issues and risks with respect to changes in the transportation industry.
Ensures the transportation design supports the overall Lennox Supply Chain strategy.
Researches and analyzes freight costs and classifications, delivery methods, and delivery schedules to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
Develop measurement standards that track and monitor transportation results against objectives and goals.
Leads the carrier selection and negotiation process; establishes and maintains contractual and business relationships with the carriers; monitors contract compliance; solves operational issues with vendors.
Conducts cost studies to develop negotiating leverage, evaluates alternatives and reduces costs.
Sets transportation policy and provides guidance to transportation analysts across the enterprise.
Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires at least 8 years related experience.
Expert knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
Knows industry and regulatory trends.
Requires excellent negotiation skills.
Must know how to use Transportation Management Systems to optimize transportation networks.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Requires knowledge and understanding of the practical impact of import and export regulations in a wide range of countries.
