Job Description

The Manager, Category/Merchandising Management will develop strategic product roadmaps for current and future parts and supplies to be sold in Lennox’ B2B distribution/retail North American network (for Lennox Residential & Commercial businesses, based in the Richardson, TX corporate offices). This position will serve to provide both strategic and tactical support to Lennox Stores throughout North America to ensure maximum support is provided to customers in pursuit of having the most profitable portfolio of parts and supplies.

This Lennox Stores role will lead product determination and define supplier strategies, including creating business cases, competitive analyses, pricing, positioning and contributing to the selling strategies. Teaming with Marketing & Merchandising for product launches and ongoing product growth strategies is critical. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Category Management.

Lennox Stores is a network of 200 + locations throughout the US and Canada that provide repair and replacement parts and equipment to professional installers and HVAC businesses.

Responsibilities include:

Strategy

  • Oversee the management of several product categories (50+ manufacturers of after-market parts & supplies) to Lennox Stores.

  • Lead ongoing Line Reviews to add new products to the Lennox Stores portfolio, negotiating: new products, growth strategies, marketing investments and lowest costs

  • Conduct comparative analysis against competitors and provide strategic planning of categories and product direction.

  • Stay current with HVAC trends and technical needs of HVAC dealers/contractors.

Leadership

  • Individual contributor lead, with responsibilities for several parts & supplies product categories.

  • Part of team of Category Managers, collaborating on strategic and tactical processes.

  • Work closely with Marketing and Merchandising as part of the Product Launch Team for all logistics of a product launch, including packaging, labeling, merchandising and promotion.

  • Work closely with Supply Chain to determine product placement (Lennox Distribution Centers, Lennox Retail Stores and Supplier direct ship).

Operations

  • Oversee the category management of all parts & supplies suppliers, including contracts, supplier report cards and growth initiatives. Assure revenue and margin gain assumptions are realized.

  • Research, analyze and recommend pricing for products.

  • Work with and coordinate information sharing between Sales, Customer Service, Technical Support, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing/Purchasing and Operations.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree required.

  • Prior experience managing supplier relations

  • 3 years experience in product/category/merchandising management preferred
