Job Description


As a Motor controls development and test Engineer in the embedded controls domain, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for project deliverables on time and with high quality.

  • Responsible for effective and efficient testing of Lennox power electronics and motor control boards.

  • Responsible for the project plans and effective reporting of project status.

  • Responsible for optimized test plans, ensuring 100% traceability & coverage of requirements to test design and test scripts.

  • Familiar with industry standards for software development, test and quality processes and tools.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required, Masters is a plus.


Technical Skills

  • 5 years of hands-on power electronics and motor control testing is required

  • Design/Test/Debug experience for peripherals needed for motor control such PWMs, ADCs and timers is required.

  • 5 years of hands-on RTOS firmware development and test is desirable.

  • Experience in programming languages such as C, C++ and scripting languages is required.

  • Experience with development and/or testing of firmware applications using embedded serial communication protocols (I2C, RS-485, RS-232, CAN) is required.

  • Knowledge of communication networks and internet protocols (TCP/IP) is highly desired.

  • Experienced in design and development of automated test architectures for embedded components and UI is desired.

  • Knowledge of testing methodologies (white-box, black-box) and its applications in embedded domain.

  • Experience on different types of embedded testing (functional testing, stress testing, performance testing, User Interface testing etc.).

  • Experience with testing tools for test management, bug tracking, requirements management, functional and performance tests.

  • Familiar with industry standards for software development, test and quality processes and tools.

  • Experience with LabView development and NI tools is a plus.

  • HVAC knowledge is a plus.

Teaming/Soft Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate across multiple functional teams (Hardware, software, Technical support, Manufacturing) in order to deliver sound technical solutions to our customers.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects including coordination with each project’s stakeholders.

  • Ability to efficiently interact with technical/non-technical staff and senior management.

  • Self driven, results oriented.
